This was completely amazing. This was truly the best thing I could have stumbled upon today, I love stories where lessons are learned from counterparts' AUs, but I was so impressed by the variety and lessons of each dimension Dean stumbled in to (the most surprising were the ones that came out of the blue, like the twin!Deans, and the reality where Castiel wanted a third). Each one was unique, rich and so, so beautiful. This was paced perfectly for Dean's self-discovery and affirmation of what he wanted and deserved. I loved that he was gone from the final world and he was given peace that if he were to ever die, Sam and Cas would take care of each other.
The sequence was perfect; you owned every feasible permutation Dean could have found and it was glorious.
The huge relief at the end when Dean realises he's finally come home and has his family around him again -- not, Sam and Cas -- his family, it was so tangible and true for the reader, too. And that bittersweet punch that the entire thing had been orchestrated by another Cas who was searching for her own Dean and, oh, the devotion.... It was the perfect, quiet, humble note of hope and promise to pursue happiness, I loved that wonderful moment they shared at the end.
I cannot remember the last time I loved a Dean/Cas story this much. SO MUCH. <333333 Thank you for sharing this.
