Summary: When Sam Winchester prays for his brother, Castiel is finally sent on his very first assignment. But what should be a simple love match turns into much more and Castiel finds himself risking everything to ensure the happiness of his extremely frustrating charge.
Notes: First off, a big thanks to22by7, hereare_mysins, wha_hoppened and tookish_girl for their help! *hugs you guys* This story started as something short (ha) to help me get over writer's block. Thousands of words later, I'm excited to finally share it with you! It also came out of the realization that I'd never seen an AU where Dean wasn't a hunter, but still got helped by an angelic Castiel. (Not that it doesn't exist, I've just not read it myself.) Combine that idea with about four others that didn't work in any other story and you've got this fic. Which I dearly hope you enjoy!
